Robert Mendillo joined Harmon in 2010 as the manager of the firm's litigation department, bringing with him 30 years of litigation experience in Illinois and Massachusetts in various aspects of civil and criminal litigation at the trial and appellate levels. In private practice and as an Assistant Attorney General, Bob has tried a number of cases to verdict in state and federal courts, and he has argued numerous appeals in the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court, as well as in the First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston. As the firm's litigation manager, Bob supervises a large staff of attorneys and paralegals and provides litigation advice and counsel to the various other departments of the firm.

Pro Bono Activities

During his career, Bob has been active in pro bono matters, concentrating on criminal trials and appeals and civil rights cases.

Classes/Seminar & Presentations

As an alumnus of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, Bob has returned on occasion to participate in training programs for new assistant attorneys general. Bob has also spoken to elementary school students about the practice of law, and to students at his college alma mater, the University of Rhode Island, about attending law school and constitutional law.

Bob has had articles published during his career in The National Law Journal, The Boston Business Journal, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and The Boston Globe on attorneys’ fees, baseball, the law of baseball, civil rights law, and Galileo and the law.
